Easel Card Box

I was asked by Lacey to do a tutorial on how i made my easel box card. I hope this is easy to understand, any queries please message me.

Materials needed -

4 6"x6" paper
4 A4 peices of card
Coloured image and backing papers
Nesties to cut out image and any embellishments you want to use
8 brads
glue
glue tape

First we make the box itself.

With a scoring board score your card at 1" 7" and 8" this will give you a 6"x6" box which holds a cd beautifully.

Do this twice and cut out.

cut the tabs as above on one of the card pieces

put in a base sheet out of your 4 I have edged mine with green distressed ink.

With the second piece cut the tabs as above

Use the glue tape on the one edge and glue this to the constructed base, it was hard to take a photo of this but you position it against the inside of the other box, to form a solid cube.

Take a second piece of your paper and cut 4 strips 2cm by 14.5cm and I then edged them in distressed ink. I then marked them a cm in at each end.

I then added them to the outside of the box on all sides and added the brads to give extra strength on the joints.

I then made the top fold of the easel card. The base is 6"x 6", and I have added the 3rd sheet of paper. Add any ribbon etc you want to tuck under now. Glue this to the top of the box. Then add the final piece of the card, a single sheet of card cut 6" x 6" on which you have decorated with your image and papers, and then stick this sheet to the folded over tab you can see on the above picture.

I hope this has made sense.

The image is Sarah Kay - which Lacey will have in the shop shortly - and the papers are Basic Grey Wassill.
